Association for Communal Harmony in Asia (ACHA) Next Project September 12, 2005 ACHA invites nominations for its annual awards. The last date for receipt of all nominations is September 25, 2005. The Award ceremony will be held in the Portland (Oregon)-Vancouver (Washington) Metropolitan Area, in the afternoon of Saturday, October 15, 2005. The details are as below. Pritam K. Rohila, Ph. D.
Every year Association for Communal Harmony (ACHA) invites nominations for the following ACHA awards. 1. ACHA STAR AWARD is given to individuals and organizations, which have performed meritorious work in promotion of peace and communal harmony and/or who have performed a valuable service for ACHA. Nominees as well as the nominators may be from any part of the world, but preference is given to those who are South Asians and whose work is focused on South Asia and South Asians. 2. MAKE A DIFFERENCE AWARD is meant for individuals and organizations located in the Portland (Oregon)-Vancouver (Washington) Metropolitan Area, who have made a difference for the better, in their community. ACHA Awards do not have any financial reward. They have been set up only to recognize some of the unsung heroes in the local community and South Asian peace and harmony. Nomination must be submitted before the due date, by email at asiapeace@comcast.net or by regular mail at ACHA Awards, 4410 Verda Lane NE, Keizer, OR 97303. ACHA Board will review the nominations and selects the finalists. Nominations must include ALL the details listed below. Incomplete nominations will not be accepted. Successful nominees and the nominators are required to be personally present at the Awards Ceremony to be held in the Portland (Oregon)-Vancouver (Washington) Metropolitan Area. But ACHA Star Award nominees and nominators, who reside in South Asia may be allowed to make their acceptance statements by phone during the award ceremony. It is the responsibility of the nominator to make sure that the nominee is able and willing to abide by all the requirements. Directors and Officers of ACHA are not eligible for these awards.
